The Giant

This piece, recently completed for a wonderful client of mine, is the largest 2d tree I've made so far, and by far has the most stones EVAR. My final count was 2137, and of course there's some small margin for error there but it's fairly close. My original estimate before starting work was about 1000 stones... after I ripped apart V1.0 and started over, and then finished a second time, I guessed about 1500. After counting I could see that I need some practice with my estimates!!


This beast was designed to hang in a piano window in my client's home, and will have a fuller, more green partner created for her matching window sometime in the near future. It's wrapped into a custom made 1/4" metal ring 12" in diameter, so it will not warp or sag over time and hanging with the weight of all those genuine Peridot stones and solid copper wire. My client has planned a method of hanging involving hooks and the sturdiest fishing line ever made, I think. I hope to get a picture of the installation once it's up in the window


While I was quite sad to see it go (and so was my son! i think he thought this was his the entire time I was working on it), I'm glad my client was happy with the end result and I'm already planning the next. Hope you enjoy!
